Thomas Belfast

Tamsin Blackbourn began her jewellery career in 1988, following her degree at the University for the Creative Arts. Initially she preferred simple, modern forms to which texture and pattern was applied, but following a break for family time, Tamsin resumed designing and making and became interested in the more decorative aspects of jewellery. She is fascinated by the role jewellery has played since ancient times in all societies and cultures and it&rsquos strong spiritual connection to ritual and heritage.

The beauty of gems is a source of inspiration for Tamsin, who likes to find well cut and proportioned gemstones, sometimes searching for a particular shape and colour, at other times allowing the stone to define the jewellery into which it is set. Tamsin&rsquos jewellery appeals to those who desire their jewellery to be relevant and contemporary, to have meaning and be unique.
