Niessing

At Niessing, design and innovation are at the core of everything. Design is the "all-encompassing mission" where even the smallest detail is important and a 'draft' often needs to mature before it can be realized. Niessing have won international design awards and have jewellery on permanent display in museums worldwide. Several modern jewellery techniques originated in the Niessing studios, most famously The Niessing Tension Ring featuring a 'floating diamond', created in 1979 by Walter Wittek.

Over more than 135 years, the Niessing studios have acquired a wealth of experience in working with precious metals and it is often this interplay between the material and the craftsman, whether conscious or unconscious, that defines Niessing design. It is about playing and taking inspiration from what the material will do, combining skillful craft and contemporary technology. Each piece tells its story and the integrity of Niessing jewellery fulfils the aesthetic, emotional and spiritual needs of the wearer.
